Actors Group of Winston-Salem provides film and television training for actors throughout North Carolina and the surrounding areas. The school was established 10 years ago in 2007, and has helped actors and actresses book over 150 roles in films and television shows since its beginning. Located at 843 Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem, the establishment is conveniently located close to downtown.

Actors Group's instructors have a wealth of experience in their craft. Head instructor Burgess Jenkins (below, left) has acted in over 200 films and television episodes since training for four years at the famous Playhouse West in Los Angeles, with notable appearances in the feature film Remember the Titans and the hit cable television show Nashville. James Freetly (below, right), the group's other instructor, has had a successful acting career as well. With roles in films Trouble With the Curve and television shows like Halt and Catch Fire, Freetly has shown his talent and dedication to his work. Together, Jenkins and Freetly share their knowledge of the entertainment industry with students at Actors Group, offering invaluable advice and coaching every week.

Students at Actors Group are exposed to training in the Meisner technique, which is also known as method acting. This style emphasizes developing personal connections to characters and the emotions they feel. Living in the moment and establishing real, emotional links to other actors and lines is a vital aspect of Actors Group's teaching. The technique has proven to be successful, and it is used by actors like Christian Bale, Daniel Day Lewis, Meryl Streep, and many others.

Those interested in pursuing a career in acting can take classes at Actors Group every Tuesday and Thursday. There are pre-teen classes, teen classes, and adult classes offered every week, and the studio can also be used to tape auditions.
