Food Not Bombs is a ‘franchise activism’ movement, aiming to highlight the issues of world hunger, food waste, and military and arms over-budgeting.

As the Southampton branch of Food Not Bombs, we gather food that would otherwise be thrown out by shops and cook vegetarian and vegan meals, which we give out for free on the streets and at events. In doing this, we aim to show how much food is wasted needlessly and to eliminate some of this waste. We oppose the spending of money on weapons in the face of world hunger, an issue that we believe could be solved with suitable logistics.

Food Not Bombs Southampton has been going for a number of years now. We have a blog and a Facebook page if you'd like to find out more, and you can e-mail us at: [email protected].
