The Sacramento Valley Chapter of the California Native Plant Society is dedicated to the preservation of native plants from Sacramento, Yolo, Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, and lower Placer Counties. It strives to increase the understanding and appreciation of our native plants and to conserve them and their natural habitats through science, education, advocacy, horticulture and land stewardship.

Projects of the Sacramento Valley Chapter include book sales, spring and fall plant sales, wildflower seed sales, fairs and events, the Hibiscus newsletter, field trips, community gardens, a native plant demonstration garden at the Old City Cemetery, the Longview Oaks Restoration Project, the organization of Sacramento Weed Warriors to clean up the American River Parkway and other nature areas, and Elderberry Farms Native Plant Nursery in Rancho Cordova. It also works closely with the California Heartland Project, EcoLandscape, the Mather Field Preservation Project, and the American River Parkway Foundation.
