The Oakland Public Library caption on the above photo states "W. F. Stone Shipbuilding Yards, foot of Dennison St., Oakland Inner Harbor. Formerly restricted to repairing small craft. Expanded and now building four wooden vessels, one 176 feet long, for an Australian owner the three schooners known as "copra" carriers for the South Sea trade."
