The Oaks was a private day and home school for young ladies, located on Oak Street between 10th and 12th Streets, then Alice and 10th Streets in Oakland. Miss L. Tracy was the Principal of the school c.1887–1889. "Prominence is given to Languages, Music, Drawing, Painting and Physical Culture."
