The Lake Merritt Apartments was one of eight high rise apartment buildings which were constructed near Lake Merritt during the economic boom of the 1920s. Located at 1417 - 1st Avenue.
[ Question: 1417 - 1st Avenue doesn't look like it is from the 1920s, nor like a high-rise. Is the building gone, or the address wrong? The 1950 Sanborn shows a 2 story building at 1417 - 1st Avenue, so I'm guessing it is the address that is wrong. ]
