The Aurora Saloon at 838 (later 840) Broadway from at least 1887 to 1910 was run by T. Henry Scheiding.
In 1887, George Jarwart worked for Scheiding as a bartender. Both Scheiding and Jarwart lived at 360 - 7th Street. In 1910, Scheiding was running the saloon at 840 Broadway with Hugo Hohmann, simpled listed as Scheiding and Hohmann Saloon. 1
There was also an Aurora saloon on San Pablo Ave. in the 1920s, but it probably isn't related. Traugoff Johann Heinreich "Henry" Scheiding died in 1911, and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
