Mondongo's is a restaurant originally from Colombia. It has 3 locations only. Bogota, Medellin and Miami. It has traditional Colombian food but focused on the Mondongo soup. The soup is made of diced tripe (cow stomach) with other ingredients. It has a gamy and intense delicious flavor.
Some countries in Latin America and also East Europe have a similar soup. Even though it has the main ingredient (tripe) it doesn't taste the same.
Mondongo's also serves other Colombian "typical" food, such as the "Bandeja Paisa" a platter that has rice, ground beef, fried egg, sweet plantain, red beans and the almighty "chicharron" (mega fat). The official name of this platter is "Bandeja Paisa" but at this place they call it a "Tipico"
You are able to order a combination of both, the soup and the platter. They call it a "Tipico Mixto". Expect to be on a food coma after this.
To drink people usually ask for the blackberry juice aka "Jugo de Mora".
The service is usually extremely fast. Expect your food to be ready in 5-10 minutes.
