A reshipper is a service that allows you to order products online, mail it to an address local to the online shopping store, and then have the package forwarded to you. For example, you would buy something from Amazon.com, have it delivered to a reshipper's address, and the reshipper would then forward the package to you in South Korea.

You will almost always get the best price from Korean reshippers. These companies will rent out space from an airline (usually Korean Air or Asiana Airlines), and use the space for a bunch of packages headed to South Korea.

Customs

  • Personal Customs Code

You will need a Personal Customs Code assigned to you by the Korean Customs Service. You will need your ARC to sign up for this, via the Customs website. You will use this number for each international shipment.

Some online guides on how to sign up for a customs code: iherb.com, jusaeyo.com.

Many reshippers still default to the 'old' system of requesting your full name, passport country, and passport number. Technically, all of this information is available through your Personal Customs Code. Prepare to be asked for a customs code after submitting passport information, or asked for passport information after submitting your customs code.
