The St. Regis Canoe Outfitters Outpost at Floodwood, on Floodwood Road near the north end of Floodwood Pond, is a part of the St. Regis Canoe Outfitters in Saranac Lake, operated by Dave and Rivka Cilley; they rent canoes and camping equipment and supplies, and provide guiding and shuttles to the many lakes and ponds of the St. Regis Canoe Area. They have also offered guided tours of the Everglades in Winter months.
Dave Cilley bought the property in 1987 from Loren and Keturah Cheney, who had used it as a hunting camp. They may also have rented row boats whenever they were at camp. They purchased it from the Pennsylvania & New York Railroad (Penn Central) in 1968. The building may have served as a freight depot, as there is a large platform scale and other train equipment there.
