Location

This is one of many Holy Well's in the Parish and is situated in a field known as Biddy's Well Field. Originally the well was situated on Rabbit Island. Legend has it that one year either because pilgrims were drowned or because the well was desecrated, the well disappeared over night.

The old people said that it was carried across the sea to the mainland with the “Amhscarbach” in a cloud of fog. It is now situated at the bottom of the hill known as Druim na Cille in the townland of Ardráth Ardra opposite the island.
