History

In 2017, three cousins from Turkey opened Cugino Forno Pizzeria at Revolution Mill in Greensboro, NC . Cugino Forno translated to English means "Cousin Oven," signifying the familial origins of the restaurant. The brothers were inspired by the importance of food in Turkish culture and grew to appreciate the craft of Neopolitan style pizza making . The Cugino Forno founders spent years researching Neapolitan style pizza before opening the restaurant, learning about technique, history, and the importance of quality ingredients from experts in the Italian city of Naples.

Upon returning to the United States, Cugino Forno opened its first location in Greensboro, North Carolina. The restaurant was one of the first to open at the newly renovated historic cotton mill complex, Revolution Mill. Other Locations

The second Cugino Forno Pizzeria location was opened in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 2019. The following year, a third location opened in Clemmons, North Carolina. A fourth location in Durham, NC is currently under construction, expected to open in 2021. Each location serves the same menu. For more information about locations, click here.

Food Offerings and Preparation

Cugino Forno serves traditional neopolitan pizza, Italian pastries and baked goods, as well as gelato imported from Italy. According to their website, 80% of the ingredients are imported directly from Italy. The 900 Degree pizza ovens have been imported directly from Naples, containing stone from Mount Vesuvius, a volcano located approximately 5.6 miles east of Naples..
