M. Joseph Sobran Jr. (born 23 February 1946, Ypsilanti, Michigan, died 30 September 2010), was an American journalist and writer, formerly with National Review and a syndicated columnist.

Sobran was the author of many books, including the 2006  Regime change begins at home : confessions of a reactionary utopian. His 1997 work Alias Shakespeare: Solving the Greatest Literary Mystery of All Time, in which he put forth the theory that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, was the true author of the plays usually attributed to William Shakespeare.
