Cnockaert told me via e-mail: "I am innocent of the charges being brought against me. I said so in open court on Tuesday, and it will be proved as this proceeds. Interestingly, neither the Bozeman paper nor the Ann Arbor News attempted to call me for comment, yet both have my cell phone number."

But Cnockaert is most known for his longtime coverage of the University of Michigan for The Ann Arbor News.
