Timeline
- 1878: four-room schoolhouse constructed on site at cost of $4,000, named "4th Ward School"
- 1902: renamed "Prospect School"
- 1919: Reconstructed as "first one-story school building in town"(?) to serve growing student population; classes held in temporary building in Prospect Park during construction
- 1963: Renamed "Adams School" in honor of retiring principal Olive M. Adams
- 1979: Bonds issued to raze building and construct new 20-classroom school currently in service
- 2016: Renamed to "Ypsilanti International Elementary School" and certified under the International Baccalaureate program.
