The Oakland Post is the largest African American weekly newspaper in Northern California, serving the San Francisco Bay Area providing readers with news of issues and current events in the Bay Area minority communities.  The newspaper was founded in 1963 by Thomas Berkley and Velda M. Berkley.

Chauncey Bailey was editor-in-chief of the Oakland Post from June 2007 until he was murdered on August 2, 2007.

Currently the newspaper has a combined circulation of approximately 55,000. It is published and edited by Paul Cobb.
