Federal Programs and City Politics: The Dynamics of the Aid Process in Oakland is a book by Jeffrey Pressman about how federal anti-poverty funding for Oakland in the 1960s was secured and administered and how the various elements of the contemporary political scene and structure affected the success/failure of the programs. It also looks at effectiveness of a variety of political strategies and tactics for securing funding and for the empowerment of local underprivileged communities and communities of color. The book is part of the Oakland Project.
