The Argentine Tango Club seeks to share the rich history, the tradition, the music, and the subculture of Argentine Tango and promote its growth within the Davis. It offer students and non-students of all experience levels the opportunity to learn and practice tango. There will be an emphasis on Argentinian tango, but members will have opportunities to learn more about the other sub-genres of tango.
Although there is a strong emphasis on social dancing within the club, Argentine Tango Club also performs with Telemark Dance Troupe in their annual showcase. The Argentine Tango Club is a diverse group of individuals who share a sincere love of tango. We encourage all UCD students and faculty, as well as Davis community members, to join us and learn the beautiful dance that is Argentine Tango!
The Argentine Tango Club currently meets on a weekly basis at the International House on Tuesdays from 7:30-10:00pm (7:30-9:00 for lesson and 9:00-10pm for social dance). More information can be found on our Facebook group.
